I slept outdoors once and once only. The closest I got to it since then has been sleeping with the window open at night. No thank you. I will pass. The closest I got was a sleepover that I went to and we were in the adjoining lot in a tent. I was never so uncomfortable in my life!
I am a camper - and love to go rural 
Because I have smallish kids, however, I only do car-camping for a while now (when the campsite is within walking distance of the car) We have fun pitching the tent, digging the fire pit, gathering wood and hauling water from the stream for washing
