Kerala is a much sought after tourist place. It is known for its rejuvenating greenery and refreshing water bodies. It is one of the most beautiful places that are visited by tourists.Among the many beautiful places in Kerala, Munnar is the most popular hill station. It is located about 1600m above sea level and lies at the confluence of the three mountain streams Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. It was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Munnar is known for its sprawling tea plantations, winding lanes, picture book towns, trekking and holiday facilities. Anamudi, the highest peak in South India is situated in Munnar and is over 2695m.

One of the main attractions in Munnar is Mattupetty Lake and dam which has a panoramic view of the tea plantations and the lake. Boating facility is available in the reservoir and trekking can be done at the Shola forests in and around Mattupetty.

Rajamala is another famous place in Munnar that is a habitat of Nilgiri Tahr, which is fast becoming extinct.Echo point, as the name suggests, has a natural echo phenomenon and has panoramic views.

Trip to Munnar is incomplete without a visit to Anamudi, which is the highest peak in the South. It stands in majestic pride and is a habitat of rare fauna or flora. Atlas moth, Nilgiri Langur, lion tailed macaque, leapords and tigers are the rare species found in this place.Eravikulam National Park is a sanctuary for the endangered mountain goat of South India, the Nilgiri Tahr.
