I think Russian stories get too associated with fluffy fairy tales filled with princesses and talking animals.
The byliny dispel that stererotype because of thier gritty epic nature.
I waited a long time for a translation to appear, and so I nabbed it when I saw it at B&B.
Of course this was before the internet made it so easy to get hard to find books.
Up until then, I only had children's renditions to keep me happy.
I think you will enjoy it. The introduction is also fascinating.
