Now there's a story I hadn't heard. I'm glad you posted this because in another thread I kept asking everyone to explain the history behind Lilith.

Some consider her to be the mother of all vampires, but she sounds much more like a succubus to me. Also, some women look up to her as the first feminist... not submitting to rule by man.

They actually continued using amulets for protection from her up until the last couple of centuries. Monks slept with their hands over their genitals to keep from being visited by her in the night (supposedly, she caused nocturnal emissions). Babies also wore amulets to keep from being stolen by her. Seems like an early form of the changeling myth.
