Hi, I'm an Irish author and last year I had a novel published which retells the old Irish myth of Deirdre of the Sorrows as a modern murder story set in rural Ireland today. It's called SOUR and it's gotten some good reviews, but none by people who are so obviously expert in all things to do with Irish and Celtic mythology.
The book takes a lot of characters from Irish myth and recasts them as crazy locals, hopefully in an enjoyable way, but I wondered if people might be up to spotting all the references and what they might have thought of them. So far, it seems they might have passed over the casual reader's head.
I'd be fascinated to learn what people's thoughts might be.
