It was rumored that after defeating their evil father cronos zeus became king by two ways. One reason that was given was that he was the first to be regurgiated from the stomach of cronos.Another one is that he drew lots with his brothers and won .Can anybody confirm or deny this statements .Thank you

Zeus was never swallowed by Cronus. His mother, Rhea, substituted a stone for her youngest son (Zeus) which Cronus swallowed. Zeus grew up in secret and when grown he attacked his father and caused him to regurgitate the other children (Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon). Zeus and his brothers drew lots for their domains. Zeus won the heavens, Poseidon the sea, and Hades the underworld. The earth and Mount Olympus they agreed to hold in common.

After Cronus was defeated, Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus bickered over who would become the next king. Rather than fight violently, they decided to draw lots over who would have the honor. Because of the draw, Zeus became the king, Poseidon ruled over the seas, and Hades ruled the underworld.

Despite the fact that Zeus won the draw, many believe that he was destined to be king anyway because he was considered to be the most powerful. Nevertheless, he went on to rule as king of the Olympian gods. It all began with a simple prophecy that stated that his sons would overthrow Cronus.
