A flock of geese heading south lands on a pond at night. The temperature drops overnight and the geese get stuck to the ice. In the morning they fly off, taking all the ice with them, so the pond is gone.
I have heard this story before, but it can't really happen. It is a silly thought isn't it, that a flock of geese could possibly fly while carrying an entire pond full of frozen water?
Yes, it's very silly and obviously impossible, but I always thought it was a cute little folktale all the same. I imagine seeing the birds fly off with the water.
