Before the dog, there was the fox

Foxes have always fascinated me. They are almost like a cross between a dog and a cat. I wonder what a tame fox would be like? And if they were once domesticated, why are they not anymore?

According to the article, researchers suggested that early civilizations may have tried first with the fox, but due to the fox's more timid nature, the dog proved to be a more suitable animal to tame. Plus, the first dogs were bigger, which probably made it easier to train them to help with hunting parties.

It makes you wonder what else is wrong in the history books. I have always wondered what was in the people's mind when they domesticated any animal. Don't you wonder what was the first person who ate an egg was thinking?

Foxes have always held my interest too. You know I do believe that the fox was man's best friend prior to dogs. Why not right? They just seem to go hand and hand with the old caveman type of man to me. Thanks for the article!
