    Remus and romulus

I have a bachelor's on zoology so I can tell you that it isn't uncommon for mammals to sometimes suckle babies of a different species. I have read that in times before the advent of breast milk substitutes people would feed babies milk from any viable source; cows, sheep, goats, etc. Since...

    Similarities

I have to agree that Odin is the much better "father" God. As mentioned, he sacrifices himself for knowledge and has a strong sense of honor and valor. Zeus is just a high-on-himself player who thinks with his dick. As far as I know Odin was faithful to Frigg. Zeus was almost constantly...

Disney's hercules: how many inaccuracies can you find?

And the entire film of Sword in the stone (which I actually quite enjoy) is told in the first 7 or 8 pages of Morte d'Arthur, and pretty much the entire cast of Hunchback of Notre Dame dies.

Dude was surrounded by death!!!! It probably didn't take much convincing for him to try and get some feminine company.

    Holiday myths

In the United States and Canada, his name is Santa Claus. In China, he is called Shengdan Laoren. In England, his name is Father Christmas , where he has a longer coat and a longer beard. In France, he's known as Pere Noel. In Germany, children get presents from Chris Kringle, which is a...

Disney's hercules: how many inaccuracies can you find?

My problem is that they had such a great story already, why did they have to screw with it like that. And don't even get me started about Pocahontas, she's got her own thread on here where we can scream about that. And yes I can expect them to be true to the source. I'll be crushed every time...

    Name A Mythological Figure!

The Sphinx!! A half-woman half-lion guardian creature that ask you a riddle. Guess right and you may pass, guess wrong and she tears your throat out. All of the versions I have read state this as the riddle: What creature goes on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three...

    1001 ways to die

A lot of the deaths on that show are simply natural selection at work. Weeding out the weak and stupid. Every once in a while though, a perfectly innocent person dies an unusual, unexpected death like Talaria's water woman. Ours is a strange, strange world.

Which greek god do you resemble?

I got Prometheus. He gave the power of fire to humanity and in return Zeus had him chained to a rock and sent an eagle to tear out his liver. Then at night he is healed and the next day the eagle comes again. This goes on for eternity. Damn.

    Why SEVEN dwarves?

Nearly all mammals have 7 cervical vertebrae. There are 7 stellar objects visible to the naked eye: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Also, pertaining to the original question, the roman numeral VII stands for White Dwarf stars in the Yerkes Spectral Classification Scheme.

Disney's hercules: how many inaccuracies can you find?

Yes, Icarus is very, very dead. And Icarus and Heracles never met. Also, Hades wasn't really all that evil. He just had a really crappy job. Yeah, he kidnapped Persephone but out of loneliness, not malice.

Disney's hercules: how many inaccuracies can you find?

One thing I did like about the movie though. If you look closely at the scene where Herc is posing for a painting wearing the skin of the Nemean lion you can see that the lion is actually Scar from The Lion King. Nice.

    Greek mythoi

Arachne was a fine weaver in Hypaepa. She was as skillful as the finest artist of the day. This all went to her head and eventually Arachne became so conceited of her skill as a weaver that she began claiming that her skill was greater than that of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war as...

Who would win in a fight?

I'd go with Hel too. It's hard enough to win a fight with a normal woman but a half-zombie woman with a pet foul-mouthed dragon? No contest.

Disney's hercules: how many inaccuracies can you find?

I was watching Disney's Hercules with my little cousins the other day and spent the whole time thinking; "that's wrong.....that too....didn't happen that way. Disney had so much good material to work with but they still goofed it all up. My favorite is that in the movie Hera is Hercules' real...
