    What's your favorite urban legend?

I like the one with the couple making out in the car and the guy goes out to check and never comes back. The woman later finds scratches on the car. Something about a guy with a hook. Anyone remember it better than me?

    Changing the words

They brought up this story on The Talk and it was aimed towards educating kids but all I could think about was how hard it is to discipline kids to sing all together and how hard it must be to have them always giggling. (The Talk didn't mention that's why they were doing it.)

    Tartarus

Tartarus is a place lower than Hades in the earth. It's worse than Hades so I'm wondering if this could relate to Dante's levels of hell? Not that we'll know where he got the idea but this is the first I've heard of more than one layer predating Dante.

    Climate change

Some people are referring to climate change as a myth. I think whether you believe it will be the end of us or not I'm not sure I'd call it a myth-maybe an urban legend. ;) I believe it exists but I don't believe it's going to do any damage in anyone's life who is currently alive. I trust future...

    Holiday song histories & meanings

I think it's funny that there's always articles around this time of year that will tell you exactly how much it would cost to purchase everything mentioned in that song. This year's total, according to Chris Morran of The Consumerist, is $101,119.84.

How fairy tales really end list

I couldn't find the endings but at least now I know why the Sheriff in Once Upon a Time is now on the other woman's side. (I only tried the first one so if anyone else has better luck let me know.)

    Twilight breaking dawn birth scene

No, it's not an urban myth. I saw the same article. I guess the way it's done is really too intense and perhaps those people need their meds increased if a movie can bring one on.

    Once upon a time

If you want to watch Revenge I think it's best to start from the beginning. If you get lost I'll try to help you out. Ringer on WB isn't that bad-Buffy has really grown up even if she does look the same-if that makes sense. :)

    The dresden files

Molly is his apprentice, she's a staple once she shows up but I don't remember which book it was. Owl-His other series is Codex Alera. I haven't gotten a chance to read any of them yet.

    The dresden files

It's the most recent of his books. I don't remember the series in terms of which episode is which and I probably missed a few so I'll have to keep my eyes open for the DVDs.

    The dresden files

I'm reading Ghost Story by Jim Butcher. It's part of his Dresdon Files series. DF was also a TV series for a short while. Has anyone read it? It's about a wizard and his adventures in the modern world.

    Bloody mary...ever tried it?

I've done it but been kind of freaked. I've also done Beetlejuice but that one's not as scary. We used to do it at slumber parties--right after we tried to lift someone using only our fingertips!

    Charon's fee

I really think this is why so many older people insist on cremation. They may have been against it in their younger years but as they got older they got more realistic about the costs to those left behind.

    Charon's fee

There are many people that think the amount they spend on a casket indicates their love for the person. I find that bizarre. I think if caskets weren't part of the viewing (turns into a social gathering anyways) then people would be more likely to just spend what they could afford.

    The fall of rome

I was reading Vonnegut's Timequake and he said that one of the reasons given for the fall of Rome was that they used lead pipes and lead poisoning can make you stupid and lazy. As good a reason as any.

    Where is your change?

I have a huge mason jar (works great as a doorstop) behind my bedroom door that's supposed to be for pennies. My nephew (7) made a really cool colored plastic dish I keep on my dresser for silver change. I do have a plastic Smiley face bank that I don't use but have had since childhood. I...

    A discovery of witches

Deborah Harkness has written a great book that's a cross between Stephanie Meyer and Anne Rice. It's a story about a witch and a vampire getting involved and bucking the system. I got it in large print from the library and it's 861 pages and I can't put it down.

    Sing a song of sixpense

I knew Ring Around the Rosie was about the bubonice plague until I looked it up on Snopes. They say it had nothing to do with the plague and probably started when there was a ban on dancing for Protestants.

    Great new show

Two examples of him remembering the past was his commenting on Emma's name when he heard it-that related back to hearing her name when he was in the prison cell. He also got the Mayor to move aside and let him leave by saying 'Please' which was the condition of her getting info from him in the...

    Henry viii

It could also be that when he started really loving him he was worried about her having the power over him or him being betrayed by that love.
