    Powwow

When I was young we had a friend who lived on one of the reservations in California with his wife, we went a few times with them but I don't really remember much except the colorful clothing everyone was wearing but me.

    Hades

Well what about Persephone? That is the story I was watching, where she was just picking flowers and he decided he wanted her and broke through the earth and snatched her. I didn't realize he did that or was this a unique situation because he wanted her as his wife?

    Irish folk music

I like listening to all types of music, but lately I have been listening to a lot of Irish folk music like they used in The Lord of The Dance. I am not sure why, but for some reason it seems to tell a story to me.

What is your favorite tale from Greek Mythology?

There are so many that tales I like. I loved Hercules. But, I think the story that intrigues me the most is Medusa. I don't know why, maybe because she was so lovely and then turned so ugly. That was tragic, but she got to turn men to stone, so maybe it balanced out in the end. LOL.

    Norse history and runes

Oh, what a great website. Thanks so much for sharing it. I have always been intrigued by runes and those who could read them. I use to actually have a shareware program that was supposed to be similar, I just never understood what it was all about.

    Roman mythology movies

Are there any movies, that are more documentary styled that explain the Roman gods and goddesses? I know a good deal about Greek mythology, but I am at a loss for the Roman version. I am not really sure if I studied it or not.

    Your favorite type of mythology

I really like Greek mythology. I have tried to get interested in some of the others, but I am just drawn to the Greeks. I love a lot of stuff about Greece, so I guess it makes sense that I would prefer their mythology the best as well.

    Hades

Can Hades just take a person because he wishes them in the underworld? I don't know a great deal about Hades, I always tend to block out information about him, I guess it is because he represents death. However, I was watching "Clash of the Gods" and I got a little confused when they were...

    Space heaters

You do have to be careful and use common sense if you use a space heater, especially on the floor. I have a "U" shaped desk and the heater is in a spot my feet cannot reach but has good ventilation. I also have a tiled floor so there are no fibers or threads that can get close to it. If you...

Bad habits that are difficult to break

My worst habit is drinking Coke/soda/pop whatever you want to call it. I need to have a coke in the morning or else my day just doesn't go correctly. I try to drink tea or coffee. I love both, but they just aren't the same as a Coke. I need the sugar, caffeine and fizz combination

    Aphrodite is in the news

I wonder how it really looks on the passport. I didn't see a picture of the actual image on the passport. If it is just a shadow or outline, then it really shouldn't be an issue. I don't think it was necessarily wise to use the full image, but it is a part of their heritage. I wonder if the...

    Why does mythology fascinate you?

I always liked mythology because it was like a fairy tale but only with more meaning. I like the way it ties into our world today, yet still remains magical.

    Space heaters

I have used space heaters. I like to have one under my desk to keep my feet toasty. If you are careful about the type you get they are safe. It is generally best to get one with a thermostat and that has a tip over feature that shuts the heater down if it is tipped over.

Hi there.. I just had a conversation with my nephew yesterday about Greek mythology. We were discussion how much we had loved the class in school. I decided to try to find some people who felt the same way as we did and found this forum. Lucky day for me!
